Privacy Policy

Brinlo is developed by Acen Studio. This policy describes how the Brinlo macOS app and the brinlo.app website handle information.

Documents and local data

Brinlo reads documents you choose and does not modify their source files. Your library organization, file-access bookmarks, reading preferences, generated previews, translation cache, and usage statistics are stored locally on your Mac. Translation API keys are stored in the macOS Keychain.

Translation

Brinlo does not send document text for translation unless you request a translation and approve the destination. The selected content and the API key needed for authentication are then sent directly to the OpenAI-compatible endpoint you configured. Acen Studio does not receive that content or key. The endpoint provider's own terms and privacy policy apply to its processing.

Diagnostics

Brinlo uses Sentry to receive crash reports, limited performance measurements, and session diagnostics so Acen Studio can improve app stability. These events may include the app version, macOS and device information, timestamps, stack traces, and technical error details.

The app is configured not to send default personally identifiable information, document contents, local file paths, API keys, or your translation service address to Sentry. Diagnostic data is not used for advertising or tracking. Sentry processes this data on behalf of Acen Studio under its data-processing and retention controls.

Website

brinlo.app does not use analytics or advertising cookies. It stores only your language choice in local browser storage. The site loads the Newsreader font from Google Fonts, so your browser may send standard connection information, such as your IP address and user agent, to Google when loading the font.

Your choices

  • You can use Brinlo without configuring translation.
  • You can remove a saved translation API key in Settings.
  • You can clear generated local data from Settings.
  • You can remove Brinlo's remaining local data by uninstalling the app and deleting its app data.
